Athens Tobacco Prevention Coalition

The Athens Tobacco Prevention Coalition consists of public health and mental health personnel, healthcare and wellness providers, and leaders and citizens in the Athens area. It works to educate the public about the dangers of cigarettes, spit tobacco and environmental (secondhand) tobacco smoke, with particular emphasis on youth initiation prevention. It also promotes local cessation resources. The Coalition sponsors nobacco.org, a local tobacco use prevention and cessation resource website. Athens Community Wellness Council

The Wellness Council is a non-profit coalition of industries, health care providers, volunteer agencies, academic groups and individuals. The goal of the Council is to promote health behavior change through resource and information sharing. It accomplishes this by sponsoring a variety of wellness-related activities. The Nutrition Education Coalition

The Nutrition Education Coalition is made up of individuals who professionally or personally promote and provide nutrition education in a ten county area of northeast Georgia. The Coalition's mission is to foster communication among groups and individuals interested in nutrition education and to ensure effective use of available resources.
